Start of Ramadhan 2018

Asalaamu’Alaykum

Al-Jalal Masjid, Luton is pleased to announce that the first fast of Ramadhan 1439 will be on Thursday 17th May 2018. Therefore we will begin our first Taraweeh prayers tomorrow, Wednesday 16th May 2018 after the Isha Jamat at 10.24 pm. You can download our Ramadhan timetable which includes prayer times here – Click here

With Ramadhan, Alhamdulillah there is an increase of people attending the Masjid, especially at Isha and Taraweeh times. We kindly encourage people to walk to the Masjid for all salaahs especially those within the locality of the Masjid – The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever purifies himself in his house then walks to one of the houses of Allah in order to perform one of the duties enjoined by Allah, for every two steps he takes, one will erase a sin and the other will raise him one degree in status.” (Muslim)

The Masjid car park will be used for overflowing for prayers especially at Isha and Taraweeh times and there is very limited parking within the vicinity of the Masjid. Please do not park in front of or block any of our neighbour’s driveways or access – The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said “He will not enter Paradise from whose harm his neighbour is not safe.” (Muslim) and The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said: “The best of companions with Allah is the one who is best to his companion, and the best of neighbours with Him is the one who is best to his neighbour.”(Narrated by al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad).

This year as in previous years, the Masjid will be hosting and supporting a number of registered charities. We kindly request you to support with your generous donations these charities who in turn will be supporting worthwhile causes both locally, nationally and internationally – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the most generous of people and he was at his most generous during Ramadhan (Bukhari and Muslim).

In addition we kindly request people to support our Masjid with your generous donations in order to maintain, build the Masjid and its services to benefit the wider community as well as expand the Masjid – The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

There will also be talks and lectures by various renowned speakers every Sunday after Zuhr Jamat, 1.30 pm as part of our 11th annual Ramadhan Reminder Series 2018. These talks are open to brothers and sisters with video link up for sisters in the Masjid.

Please do keep the Masjid and its volunteers in your dues and be patient with us. We will try our very best to facilitate programmes and events efficiently in order to help you in your worship of Allah Almighty in this blessed month.

Finally, may Allah make this Ramadhan, a month of worship and us being in servitude of Him Almighty. May Allah by His Mercy Alone bring us closer to Him. May Allah guide us and help us to reconnect with His book – The Qur\’an – and to implement it in our lives in this month and beyond. May Allah increase us in our love and desire to follow the examples and teachings of our beloved Messenger, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Ameen!

Ramadhan Mubarak! Ramadhan Kareem!

Ma Salaam.
